Well, after a somewhat questionable decision to take an uncomfortable 11 hour train ride from Damascus to Amman instead of the very comfortable and fast 4 hour bus ride, I'm at least happy to report that I have arrived in Amman in one piece.

 

I took the apparently famous Hejaz Railway line, which if you're a Lawrence of Arabia fan should sound familiar. You can read about the Hejaz Line and see some pictures that someone else took if you're interested.

 

I'll post a more thorough update on the experience once I clear up my 1 week old post backlog but suffice to say that the train is neight comfortable, fast nor romantic in anyways... /sigh
